Major Research Platforms
Conservation Management
My research on conservation management focuses on questions about how we organize and implement conservation initiatives to achieve the best possible outcomes for all stakeholders including non-anthropocentric communities. This platform provides space to investigate how environmental policy and systems ecology interect to inform how practitioners can improve outcomes on the ground.
Theory of the Policy Process
Working in the policy sciences allows me to contribute to the theoretical underpinnings of how policies are transformed from ideas into law. My work in this area centers around the study of Multiple Streams Framework and Policy Diffusion, providing a more nuanced understanding of how each of those frameworks operate broadly.
Sustainability Policy
My work contributes to the related area of sustainability policy as well. Here, I investigate public perceptions on environmental subjects to help understand how public opinion, adn the drivers thereof, influence the current focus of environmental policy at large and contribute to the advnacement of sustainable initiatives.
Public Administration
Public sector administration is critical to achieving outcomes in every sector, no less so with the environment. In this research platform, I pursue questions of organizational management and investigate how federal executive action impacts the integrity of federal service agencies tasked with delivering on critical public goals.
Environmental Justice & Equity
My work on social justice and equity builds out of my central focus on environmental policy. Here, I investigate issues pertaining to individual and community access to fascets of both natural and built environments to understand the extent of critical envrionmental issues present in communities, ascertain how they should best be addressed, and consider alternative structures for practitioners to pursue.
